1. Who we are

Kaarigar Gwalior is a booking service that connects homes in Gwalior with independent plumbers and electricians (“kaarigars”). This policy explains what data we collect on the website, the app and WhatsApp, why, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Operated by: Kaarigar.

2. What we collect

• Account: mobile number (for login), name and email (if you add them), language.
• Addresses: house/street, landmark, colony, PIN code.
• Bookings: the service, your problem description, time, price, coupon, payment method and status, rating.
• Support: your complaints and messages.
• Notification choices: whether reminders and offer messages are on, and when you agreed to offers.
• App: a device token to send notifications.

We never take an Aadhaar or other ID number or copy. When online payment is switched on, card or UPI details go straight to the payment company, not to us.

3. Why

• To create bookings, find a nearby kaarigar and send them to you.
• To send booking updates, reminders and refund information.
• To resolve complaints, prevent fraud and meet legal duties.
• Offer messages only if you said yes. You can switch them off any time.

4. Who can see it

• Kaarigars: with a job offer, only the job and the colony. Your name, address and phone only after they accept.
• Service providers working for us: SMS/WhatsApp messaging, server hosting and, when switched on, the payment company. Names: [to be confirmed].
• Government bodies when the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. When you delete your account we remove your profile, addresses and notification choices. Past booking records (booking ID, date, service, colony, amounts) may be kept without your name for up to 1 year for legal or tax reasons.

6. What is stored in your browser

The website stores only what it needs in your browser: your language, your login token and an unfinished booking. No advertising or tracking cookies. Details are in the cookie policy.

7. Your rights

• See and correct your data in “My account”.
• Withdraw consent: switch off offer messages in “My account” → “Profile”.
• Erase your data: see how to delete your account.
• Complain to the grievance officer below. If that does not solve it, you can approach the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, we will show the date on this page and send a message for important changes.
